I'm glad to hear this resonated with you! I have a family now, which means I don't get a lot of time for programming over the holidays. But I did sneak in a few lines of code while everyone was napping, and now my unit test suite is a little closer to passing again. :)
I hear ya. Finding the time is a challenge. I'm married with a kid in elementary school, FTE, and doing the Georgia Tech online masters in CS in my "spare time" (finished in the spring, though!)

This is my situation too. Trying to balance 'just one more thing' or '5 more minutes' with other priorities can be a challenge.
